Last visions of a disappeared sailor

B.M. Two letters of the alphabet written with squid ink on a textile colored parchment. Two initial pleading to find him, to look again for him, not forget him. The track of the lonely sailor has disappeared, devoured by sand mixed with wind.

Remained on that piece of a sail of his boat, evaporated in the Red Sea sun, the ultimate visions of the desperate sailor: landscape of rusted stones traversed by antic taciturn tortoises and incessant winds, an exhausted people fleeing drought, far away an abandoned messenger bag -what else?-, a bride into the rigging -was it before ?-

The geographer P. L’Hostis de Kervinic reports that he had finishing his mission near the ancient Berenice along the coast of the Red Sea

at the beginning of the year 4002, when a young Danakil approaches him offering in exchange for a clear water gourd the iconographic sail roll.

Today this sail is  exposed next to a work of the corean artist Kim Hee Kyung in the space of the Gallery Ponzetta

in Pietrasanta, few miles from the tuscany coast.
